New Spray Marking System for Pigmented Marking Inks, Paints
EFD Inc. has developed the new 781RC MicroMark® Recirculating Spray System
to help manufacturers eliminate the costly maintenance and downtime associated with conventional marking systems, such as felt pads that quickly become contaminated with debris, and spray valves that often clog from heavy pigments in the inks and paints. EFD's system uses a recirculating pump to keep pigments in suspension and a short burst of air after each cycle to clear the nozzle of any residue. Potential applications include large automotive transmission components to small printed circuit boards. |

I'd like to interrupt the current recession for a brief interjection: Wow!
It's getting to be that time of year when we at ASSEMBLY start gearing up for Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo), which we sponsor here in Chicago each September. Doing so now has reminded me of just how much has happened over the past 12 months.
This same time last year we had a president nearing the end of his second term; the financial crisis was just beginning to unfold; and crude oil prices were going through the roof. Politicians were still arguing over whether the fundamentals of the economy were sound, and there was fear of a strike at GM.
Remember the GM strike? It did eventually happen, right in the middle of ATExpo. It seemed pretty scary at the time. Ah, what an innocent time it was!

 System Loads, Unloads Parts Automatically
The TrayTender can be used to automatically load or unload parts in a wide range of applications, including injection molding, machining and assembly. An operator first loads the trays into a vertical carousel magazine, after which a shuttle stages and transfers the trays to a six-axis robot, which is ceiling mounted and performs actual parts feeding and removal.
