Spectra Technologies Wins Award From Adept

EULESS, TX--Systems integrator Spectra Technologies has won the 2001 Technology Award from robotics manufacturer Adept Technology Inc. (San Jose, CA).

Spectra won the award for developing a high-volume, vision-guided robotic cell that assembles and solders through-hole devices to printed circuit boards. The cell contains two Adept robots, a flexible parts feeder, a vision system and a machine controller. Vision-guided SCARA and Cartesian robots insert and solder through-hole components automatically. The system has three cameras: two for guidance and one for process control.

Spectra was selected for the award from a field of 150 Adept integrators. Spectra provides material handling, assembly and test systems, and process integration for the cell phone, electronics and automotive industries.
