Hand Held Automatic Screw Drivers

Hand held auto feed screw driving systems eliminates the operator from picking up or orientating screws in their hands and putting them on the end of a screwdriver bit. The systems are designed with pneumatic or electric pistol grip or inline straight type drivers with various rpm’s and torque-angle configurations. This greatly reduces the potential for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, which affects Employer’s cost. By freeing up a hand, this allows the operator to align a part correctly reducing the risk of cross threading and allows the operator to pick up the next part for assembly. Production results are usually around 40-50% without an increase in personnel. Return on Investment is six months or less.

Multi-Spindle Fixtured Systems

Fixtured automated multi-spindle screw feeding systems have even more value. Instead of driving one screw at a time, multiple screws can be driven from our patented multi-feed systems from a single bowl. Screws are driven straight every time with quality and consistency. Screwdriver platens can be attached to Robots with ease and programmed for different configurations. DC and Monitoring driver tool systems can count and control the fastening process like detecting cross-threading or stripped screws. Also position feedback cylinders can be used for drive to depth applications.

Machine Build Componentry

Fixtured build components are components used by customers or machine builders to custom build their assembly process. This would include the purchase of screwdriver spindles or platens and patented multi-exit feeder bowl systems with supply hoppers.

Dispensing Systems

Design Tool, Inc. also offer screw dispensers. The system is designed to drop a pre-determined  number of fasteners into a dispensing cup to be dropped into your hand. This gives the operator the correct number of fasteners to put into their part and provides accountability if the screw is missing or accidentally dropped into the customer’s part. As an option DTI can also do multiple counts out of one bowl with a selector switch and additional programming. These systems are designed for most screws, bolts, nuts, and pins.
