Overcoming Contamination in a Cleanroom Environment
Date: Now On Demand Through July 7, 2016
Although pneumatic actuators and the items used to control them are generally considered to be ‘clean‘, they nevertheless can create and release particles that are detrimental to cleanroom processes. By the use of cleaning procedures, small modifications and appropriate positioning of the problem items, it is possible to minimize the level of their contamination.
The items of concern are:
-
Actuators; particles released through guides, shaft seals and vents
-
Control valves; particles released through ports and vents
-
Air preparation units; particles released through relief ports
-
Fittings and tubing; particles created as a result of the manufacturing process of thermoplastic tubing and tube fittings that can add to the problem
How these items are cleaned, positioned within the cleanroom, and possibly modified, will be covered in the presentation.
