ROSEMONT, IL-This year's Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo) will once again include a functioning electronics assembly line, courtesy of the Electronics Assembly Suppliers Initiative (EASi). This year's line will manufacture digital clocks, to be distributed free to ATExpo attendees.
Now in its 10th year at ATExpo, the EASi line is being coordinated by Electronics Manufacturing Solutions Inc. (Mooresville, IN). It will feature lead-free assembly, double-sided surface mount technology and a programmed microcontroller. The line will also incorporate equipment for material handling and transport, stencil printing, component pick-and-place, selective soldering, reflow soldering, X-ray inspection, automated optical inspection, laser marking, robotic point-to-point soldering, rework, depaneling, packaging and microcontroller programming.
