KORE Power to Build Large-Scale Battery Cell Manufacturing Plant
COEUR d'ALENE, ID–KORE Power, a leading developer of battery cell and energy system storage technologies, recently announced that it plans to build a large-scale battery cell manufacturing facility in the United States. The facility will operate at 12-gigawatt-hours per year capacity with net-zero carbon emissions. The site selection process is still underway, but an announcement could be made by the fall of 2021.
"In addition to the jobs created in the construction phase of the project, our manufacturing facility will provide 1,000 to 1,250 jobs day one of operation, growing to an estimated 3,000 direct jobs at full production capacity," says Lindsay Gorrill, CEO of KORE Power. "With an estimated 15,000 indirect jobs, [the plant will] bring the total to approximately 18,000 jobs when at full production capacity."
