LANSING, MI—General Motors Co. could receive $4 million in tax breaks from the city of Lansing for building a $38.6 million logistical center there to support its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant.
LOCKPORT, NY—The auto parts assembly plant here has survived lots of change. The complex switched affiliations from GM to Delphi and then back GM in 2009. Today, the plant is humming, and workers and managers are more optimistic than ever.
SAO PAULO, Brazil—GM could build another assembly plant in Brazil if sales in the world’s fourth-largest auto market continue expanding at approximately 5 percent annually. The automaker’s existing facility here is already producing some 60,000 vehicles per year.
KANSAS CITY, KS—GM will invest $600 million to upgrade its assembly plant here. Construction on a new 450,000-square-foot paint shop, a stamping press and efficiency enhancements at the plant will begin this year.
DETROIT—General Motors is planning to invest approximately $1.6 billion in its North American manufacturing facilities during 2013, in a bid to unveil about 20 new models during the year.
