LIMA, OH—Ford Motor Co. is investing $500 million to build a new compact, lightweight turbocharged V-6 engine at its assembly plant here.

MARYSVILLE, OH—The 10 millionth U.S.-made Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line March 20 at Honda’s factory here. All totaled, Honda’s four U.S. assembly plants have produced 20 million vehicles to date.

BENTON HARBOR, MI—Whirlpool Corp. is moving production of its commercial front-load washing machines from Monterrey, Mexico, to Clyde, OH. Approximately 80 to 100 new jobs will be created in Clyde during the next three years to support the relocation.

TOLEDO, OH—The manager of the Chrysler assembly plant here says the facility will build more than a half-million Jeeps next year—making it one of the highest-volume assembly plants in North America.

FAIRFIELD, OH—The Western States Machine Co., which makes centrifuges, has opened a new $6.5 million, 76,000-square-foot assembly plant here.
