Assembly in Action: Airbus Quickens Electrical Testing of Wing Assemblies
Airbus has manufacturing facilities across the globe, including Tianjin, China, and Broughton and Filton in the United Kingdom. At these facilities, Airbus workers perform electrical and systems testing of wing assemblies for the company’s full-size A380 and A400M aircraft, as well as A318, A319, A320 and A321 single-aisle aircraft.
Testing programs have been in place there since 2002. The programs were developed in conjunction with MK Test Systems, a UK-based manufacturer of high-voltage equipment, and MK’s
regional distributor, Tyco Electronics.
