Booth Security and Avoiding Theft
The ASSEMBLY Show management provides 24-hour security at the entrances of the hall, and roving the show floor, during move-in, show hours, and move-out. Please note that security coverage is not “booth specific”, therefore it does not cover watching/monitoring/securing every exhibit booth. Ultimately, each exhibitor is responsible for the security of his or her own booth and the items within it.

The ASSEMBLY Show does not have a problem and or history of excessive theft. However, we would suggest you consider the following.

Use Common Sense — Do not leave purses, briefcases, laptops/tablets, cell phones, coats, or anything of value unattended at any time in your booth, especially not overnight.
Overnight Security Guard — If you feel it is warranted (perhaps you have proto-type and/or proprietary equipment being displayed), you can hire an unarmed security guard at a reasonable cost to man/watch your booth during non-show hours. If you would like to find out more about that service, please feel free to contact Mike Mlady and he would be happy to help you. Another option (but you’d need ample space in your booth) is what’s called a security cage…where you can lock up valuable items in your booth. These come in different sizes and you can view them on page 49 of the Exhibitor Service Manual.
You Need Insurance — As an exhibitor, it is necessary for you to carry general liability coverage from an insurance company in good standing with minimum policy limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. Make sure your insurance covers your booth display, merchandise, and theft of any employee personal items. This insurance must be in force during the lease dates of the event, October 17-25, 2019, naming BNP Media (2401 W. Big Beaver Rd. Troy, MI 48084) as the certificate holder. The Additional Insured’s must read as follows: BNP Media and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
