ZURICH, SWITZERLAND--Stäubli AG produced its 1,000th RX clean room robot in November 2000.

Manufactured at the company's plant in Faverges, France, the RX robot has a subclass 1 cleanliness rating. The robot can move in six degrees of freedom and can be mounted on the floor, wall or ceiling. Depending on the model, the maximum payload capacity is 4.5, 12, 24 or 60 kilograms. Integral arm casings ensure minimal particulate emission.
