Assembly Lines: Cognex Awards Continuing Education Units
NATICK, MA-The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has certified Cognex Corp. as an authorized provider. As a result, Cognex's courses now award continuing education units (CEUs) to students who successfully complete these programs.
"Many people who are licensed in their field, such as certified manufacturing engineers, technologists and managers, as well as trades people, such as electricians, must regularly attend professional development courses that award CEUs," says Dr. Cliff Fitzgerald, senior manager, worldwide educational services for Cognex. "Now the programs we offer help these individuals to maintain their licenses, and our students are assured that they are participating in the highest quality classroom and online courses that meet strict IACET guidelines. No other machine vision vendor has been certified to award CEUs."
The broad range of educational services provided by Cognex enable its customers to get the most out of their machine vision investment. Cognex offers vision courses for all skill levels at education centers around the world, or at customer facilities. Courses include demonstrations, hands-on instruction for hardware and software installation, as well as lab exercises to help students develop inspection strategies, select the best lighting techniques and lenses, and learn to set vision tool parameters for optimal performance.
Classes are taught by qualified technical instructors with experience helping students solve tough lighting problems and develop efficient inspection strategies. Web-based classes with interactive audio and live video provide Cognex customers with a way of learning how to setup and use their vision system without the need for travel. Computer-based instruction is also available on a number of Cognex products for customers interested in self-paced, multimedia tutorials that include graphics, video and animation.
