LITTLETON, CO—To celebrate the 75th anniversary of its incorporation in the United States, Norgren conducted a nationwide hunt for the oldest Norgren component being used in a manufacturing process.

During the hunt, several components dating to the 1970s were submitted in the hopes of winning the contest. However, the contest winner turned out to be FDL-USA (Mount Joy, PA), a custom manufacturer of advanced friction products. Its winning component is a 20AG-2 Norgren filter and regulator that has been on the job for 50 years, servicing a clamping fixture for a band saw. "These units were online when I got here, and I know for a fact that the only maintenance we've done is clean the filter elements," says Blaine Lowry, technical director for FDL-USA.

For identifying the winning component, Lowry wins $1,000 in cash, $2,500 for his company's charity and a free air system efficiency audit from Norgren for the company.
