WASHINGTON-New factory orders in September rose 0.9 percent following an unrevised 0.8 percent decline in August, the Commerce Department reported. That’s slightly above the 0.8 percent rise economists were expecting. Orders have now risen in five of the last six months, but are down an unadjusted 21.7 percent over the year.MORE
