Worker Injured in Fire at Polaris Assembly Plant

SPIRIT LAKE, IA—A worker at the Polaris Industries motorcycle assembly plant here was injured late Monday in a small explosion and fire at the facility, according to a report in the Sioux City Journal.
Authorities were notified of the fire at about 9:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the building had been evacuated, and firefighters extinguished the fire. The injured worker was transported to a nearby medical center with minor injuries. No firefighters were hurt.
The explosion occurred in the plant’s paint-mixing facility. Damage to the plant was minimal, and operations have resumed.
The facility was ASSEMBLY magazine's 2015 Assembly Plant of the Year.
