Lear to Create Hundreds of Assembly Jobs in Detroit
DETROIT—Lear Corp. plans to invest $48 million to build a new automotive seat assembly operation here that could create hundreds of new manufacturing jobs.
The plant will be built on the site of a shuttered stamping plant once owned by General Motors. The plant will supply seats for the electric vehicles built at GM’s nearby Detroit-Hamtramck Factory ZERO.
