GE Aerospace is Investing Over $650 Million in Manufacturing in 2024

GE Aerospace plans to invest more than $650 million into its manufacturing facilities and supply chain during 2024 to improve production and strengthen quality to better support its commercial and defense customers. Nearly $550 million will go to its U.S. facilities and supplier partners.

Investments globally include facilities in Canada, Czech Republic, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Romania, and the United Kingdom.

Here are the investments in GE facilities in the U.S., amount, location, and use.

Investment: $23,700,000

Muskegon, Michigan

New equipment and tooling for the growth in production of engines for narrowbody aircraft.

Investment: $5,000,000

Terre Haute, Indiana

New machines, additional specialized tooling, and upgrades to equipment and the building for production of narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines.

Investment: $5,900,000

Lafayette, Indiana

Additional equipment and new tooling to increase the assembly of engines for narrowbody and regional aircraft.

Investment: $6,700,000

Madisonville, Kentucky

New tooling, refurbishing machines, and additional equipment for the production of military jet, helicopter, and marine engines.

Investment: $16,800,000

Huntsville, Alabama

Machines for production of narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines, quality testing equipment, and upgrades for the facility.

Investment: $15,000,000

Batesville, Mississippi

New machines and equipment for the increased production of engines in narrowbody and widebody aircraft, along with work on military engines.

Investment: $54,900,000

Auburn, Alabama

Additional additive machines and tooling to increase the production of military rotorcraft engines, along with narrow and widebody commercial aircraft engines.

Investment: $2,400,000

Jacksonville, Florida

New machines and 3D printer, additional tooling and equipment, and upgrades to the building.

Investment: $22,200,000

Wilmington, North Carolina

Machines and specialized tooling for the production of narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines.

Investment: $7,600,000

Durham, North Carolina

Tooling and equipment to increase the assembly capacity of narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines.

Investment: $4,900,000

West Jefferson, North Carolina

Quality inspection equipment and high-tech machinery for the production of narrowbody aircraft engines.

Investment: $16,000,000

Greenville, South Carolina

High-precision equipment, machines, and tooling to produce narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines.

Investment: $11,300,000

Asheville, North Carolina

High-precision machines used to produce critical components in widebody and narrowbody aircraft engines, along with upgrades to the facility.

Investment: $64,200,000

Evendale, Ohio

Upgrades to machines, hoists, and new specialized tooling across several sites in the area to increase production and assembly of GE Aerospace engines. Some sites will see modernization and upgrades of test cells.

Investment: $18,200,000

West Chester, Ohio

New additive manufacturing machines, new tooling, and equipment to support production of widebody aircraft engines and military helicopter engines.

Investment: $19,900,000

Dayton, Ohio

New machines, 3D printer and specialized tooling for the production of narrowbody aircraft engines. Investments will also go toward supporting the development of the RISE engine GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines are developing. Facilities will receive upgrades.

Investment: $25,000,000

Peebles, Ohio

Additional equipment, smart test cell upgrades, and specialized tooling to support the testing and development of widebody, narrowbody, and regional aircraft engines. Several buildings will receive upgrades.

Investment: $600,000

Sterling, Virginia

New machines and additional tooling.

Investment: $3,400,000

Norwich, New York

Replace equipment, purchase additional tooling and new machines, and make major upgrades to the facility.

Investment: $24,900,000

Rutland, Vermont

New equipment, machines, and tooling to support increased production of narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines, along with military helicopter and fighter jet engines. Facilities will receive some utility upgrades.

Investment: $30,000,000

Lynn, Massachusetts

Investment in engine assembly and testing that supports the production of U.S. and allied military helicopter and fighter jet engines. Additional investments will be used for facility maintenance and upkeep, and build on investments made in 2023.

Investment: $9,700,000

Hooksett, New Hampshire

Replace some current machinery and add new tooling for the production of widebody and narrowbody aircraft, along with military helicopter and fighter jet engines. Building utilities will also receive upgrades.

Plus, GE Aerospace is investing in supplier partners to build and maintain capacity and capabilities needed for sustained growth.in Indiana, California, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Texas, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Kentucky, Mississippi, Georgia, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire.
