WARRENDALE, PAThe Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is taking steps to keep the U.S. drug supply secure. The agency is using radio frequency identification (RFID) tagging on products by manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers to trace and track products. RFID tagging will also make copying medication difficult and unprofitable, according to the FDA.
The agency intends to have full RFID adoption by 2007.
