McCLEAN, VA--The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) to promote manufacturing careers to young people.

AMT was one of seven organizations that received grants from NAM. AMT will use its grant to develop educational programs for high school teachers and students at the International Manufacturing Technology Show, which will be held Sept. 4 to 11, 2002, in Chicago. In addition to focus groups and presentations, AMT will produce printed materials and displays about manufacturing careers and the importance of math and science.
