Flexible ‘Chair’ Provides Ergonomic Support
The Chairless Chair is a lower-body exoskeleton that provides back support and correct body posture for assemblers. The flexible, ergonomic device is ideal for applications where operators are required to stand for long periods of time, such as automotive assembly lines. Assemblers wear the lightweight device as they move from task to task and can sit down anywhere. When they need to crouch, squat or sit, a small motor locks the device at the knees. Once the user starts to walk again, the lock is removed. The device enables individual sitting height adjustment and easily adapts to different body sizes.
