ST. JOSEPH, TN—Novus Advanced Manufacturing says it will expand the operations of its plant here, creating 174 new jobs for the region in a $2 million investment.  A subsidiary of Hunt Services Inc., Novus manufactures steel framing components and accessories for the construction of commercial and residential structures.
A steel framed structure’s strength, durability and holding power provide a stable base for regions that experience high winds and seismic activity. Non-combustibility, termite resistance and dimensional stability offered by the steel framing method can offer decreased construction and ownership costs to other building methods, according to the company.
The company specializes in manufacturing steel panels for the hospitality and retail center sectors. Novus first began operations in St. Joseph, in 2016. The facility is the company’s primary base of operations.
The expansion announcement was made in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Within the past four years, more than 2 million square feet of industrial and warehouse space built to attract new businesses has been filled in Lawrence County. Since 2016, eight companies made investments totaling $40 million in the county. They include new businesses, companies that have or are in the process of moving here, and existing industry expansions. Their investments created 800 new jobs.
