SEOUL, Korea—Hyundai Motor Co. is considering setting up a second plant in the United States in an effort to boost production of full-size vehicles in line with rising demand. The new factory, set to be built near the carmaker’s current Alabama plant, would have an annual production capacity of 300,000 units.
MOBILE, AL—With its powerhouse operational and construction of three primary structures categorized at “substantial completion,” Airbus’ A320 assembly plant here could receive its first shipment of major components from Europe as early as June.
ANNISTON, AL—International Automotive Components dedicated an expansion of its assembly plant here. The company, which makes instrument panels and other interior components, plans to hire an additional 350 workers over the next two years.
MOBILE, AL—Although hiring won’t take place until early 2015, Airbus has posted its latest batch of hourly positions for its A320 assembly plant under construction here.
TUSCALOOSA, AL—Mercedes-Benz will invest $2.4 billion to boost capacity at its assembly plant here from 185,000 per year to 300,000. The facility will also hire additional workers.
