TAEJON, South Korea-Engineers at the Humanoid Robot Research Center built a prototype HUBO-FX1, a “robotic chair” that is equipped with a pair of an capable of carrying a person or a load of more than 200 pounds.

In operation, the user operates the robot legs with a joystick while sitting in the chair. The system’s legs incorporate a battery of force, torque and position sensor. In all the HUBO-FX1 measures about 6 feet high and weighs about 300 pounds.
