MOBILE, AL—Airbus is poised to announce plans for a commercial-jet assembly plant here, its first in the United States, to meet demand as North American airlines renew their fleets.
FINDLAY, OH—MITEC Powertrain Inc. has opened its $24 million assembly plant here. Producing 1,500 powertrain parts daily, the facility will employ 135 people by 2017.
ASHEVILLE, NC—Linamar Corp. will hire an additional 250 workers for its assembly plant here. The new jobs come as part of a $75 million investment in the factory, which makes engine blocks and other parts for construction equipment.
WARRENDALE, PA—Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. has opened a 50,900-square-foot assembly plant here that will produce HVAC systems for the railroad industry.
STUART, FL—Triumph Aerostructures’ Vought Aircraft Div. hopes to begin a 16,000-square-foot expansion to its assembly plant here by the end of July. The plant makes flaps for the Boeing 777.
