EVERETT, WA—The Boeing Co. plans to stop building the 787 Dreamliner at its assembly plant here by mid-2021 and consolidate production of the jet at its factory in North Charleston, SC.

SEATTLE—Thirty thousand Boeing employees must start taking vacation or sick time, or apply for unemployment, after the airplane maker decided to keep its Puget Sound plants closed indefinitely.

EVERETT, WA—The Boeing Co. is streamlining 767 production as it prepares to make more of the durable widebody jet in 2017. Boeing plans to increase the production rate for 767s from two a month to 2.5 planes a month next year.

RENTON, WA—Boeing has added a new robotic system to its 737 factory here to automate the process of drilling holes and installing bolts in wing spars.

OLYMPIA, WA—A lawmaker says she will introduce a bill that could reduce Boeing’s multibillion dollar tax break if the company trims its overall Washington state workforce.

EVERETT, WA—Héroux-Devtek Inc., which makes the landing gear for Boeing’s 777X, will assemble that equipment at a new factory here.

SUMNER, WA—GKN Aerospace will build a new assembly plant here, after winning a contract to build winglets for Boeing’s forthcoming 737 MAX. The facility will open in late 2015 and employ approximately 75 people at full production.

EVERETT, WA—Boeing has begun construction on its $1 billion 777X Composite Wing Center here. The facility will make the largest wings Boeing has ever built—114 feet long and 23 feet wide.

FREDERICKSON, WA—Boeing will build the carbon-fiber composite tail of the 777X jet at its assembly plant here. The facility already builds the similar tail of the current 777.
