NEWARK, DE—GE Aviation will invest $27 million to expand its assembly plant here to boost production of ceramic matrix composites, which are used to make advanced aircraft engine components. The move will create 70 jobs.
SAN ANTONIO—The Southwest Research Institute has launched its third cooperative research program aimed at developing a high-efficiency gasoline engine for the light-duty automotive and medium-duty engine markets. This four-year effort will expand on earlier efforts to improve gasoline engine technology for future emissions and fuel economy requirements.
DETROIT—Henkel Corp. has introduced a series of electroceramic coatings, polyacrylate gasket materials and porosity sealants for assembling powertrain components.
AUBURN HILLS, MI—Ralco Industries Inc., which makes welded assemblies and metal stampings, is investing $13.5 million to build a new headquarters and assembly plant here. The company is expected to add 20 to 70 jobs.
