Putting People First: A New Approach to Operational Excellence in Manufacturing

KEYWORDS: efficiency / employees / future of manufacturing / Productivity

Contact: Meg M.
U.S. manufacturers are having difficulty finding workers, and the problem is likely to get worse. As many as 2.1 million manufacturing jobs could go unfilled in 2030, a gap that could cost the U.S. economy $1 trillion in revenue that year alone. Even those people who do choose to work in manufacturing may not be as engaged as management would like. Indeed, according to Gallup’s latest State of the American Workforce report, employee engagement averages just 33 percent in the U.S. In contrast, employee engagement is 70 percent at the world’s best companies.

Imagine your assembly plant being more than just a production facility. Manufacturing organizations are made of people, and those people are the driving force behind your production. Your employees can be more than just assembly line workers and production staff.

This presentation will help you develop strategic and operational excellence practices that can positively impact your workers’ performance and commitment, and that, in turn, will boost productivity. The outcome will go beyond profit to creating workplaces that can work for everyone.

Learn how manufacturers such as Apple, Boeing, Proctor & Gamble, and Vitamix are taking a new approach to operational excellence in manufacturing.

In this presentation, you’ll discover:
  • Tips for developing an environmental, social, and governance culture that promotes quality and loyalty among staff.
  • How defining a compelling purpose can help you recruit and keep star players.
  • Why completely overhauling your structure will encourage meaningful and long-term advantages.
  • How humanist manufacturing operations can contribute to thriving communities.
