NASHVILLE, TN—A federal labor board is reviewing a decision by one of its regional officials to deny a union from trying to organize fewer than 100 of the thousands of employees at Nissan’s automotive assembly plant in Smyrna, TN.

SMYRNA, TN—Production of the 2021 Nissan Rogue launched at the Nissan North America vehicle assembly plant here on schedule, despite pandemic setbacks.

SMYRNA, TN—Nissan’s assembly plant here is the top-producing automotive manufacturing plant in the North American industry so far this year. The plant’s two assembly lines have produced more than 334,000 vehicles.

In early March, UAW officials met with workers from Nissan Motor Co.’s assembly plant in Smyrna, TN, to lay the groundwork for a third union representation vote. Plant employees turned down the UAW by a 2-to-1 margin in 2001. A 1989 attempt to organize the plant also failed.

SMYRNA, TN—Nissan Motor Co. will add a third shift at its assembly plant here, adding more than 800 jobs.

CANTON, MS—The city of Canton’s efforts to annex the nearby Nissan assembly plant have failed.
