WESTMINSTER, MD—Knorr Brake Corp., a manufacturer of braking systems for railcars, has installed an 865-kilowatt solar array on the roof of its assembly plant here. The system is expected to provide up to 60 percent of the plant’s energy requirements.
CHEROKEE, AL—FreightCar America Inc. has subleased approximately 25 percent of Navistar’s assembly plant here to build various types of railcars. FreightCar expects to invest $23 million to equip the facility, which will have the capacity to build more than 7,000 railcars per year.
