MARYSVILLE, OH—The 10 millionth U.S.-made Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line March 20 at Honda’s factory here. All totaled, Honda’s four U.S. assembly plants have produced 20 million vehicles to date.
CELAYA, Mexico—Honda has opened an $800 million assembly plant here— its seventh North American factory. The plant will eventually make 200,000 cars a year and employ 3,200 workers.
TOKYO—Honda Motor Co. last year exported more cars out of the United States than it imported into the country, claiming a first among major Japanese automakers.
RUSSELLS POINT, OH—Honda will begin operating two new wind turbines at its transmission assembly plant here. The turbines are expected to provide about 10 percent of the plant’s electricity and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
MARYSVILLE, OH—Honda Motor Co. will invest $215 million in engine assembly plant in Anna, OH, and its vehicle assembly plant in Marysville, OH. These new investments bring to nearly $2.7 billion the amount Honda has invested in its North American operations in the last three years.
MARYSVILLE, OH—Honda will produce the new Acura NSX sports car at a new $70 million assembly plant adjacent to its existing facility here. The new factory is expected to employ approximately 100 people.
