NOVI, MI—Automotive exhaust and HVAC supplier Eberspaecher North America Inc. is investing $122 million to expand operations in Michigan. The five-year expansion plan, beginning in late 2014, is expected to create 545 jobs.
AUBURN HILLS, MI—BorgWarner will expand its Powertrain Technical Center here. The expansion is expected to be complete in early 2015 and support up to 200 regular full-time jobs.
TROY, MI—Toyoda Gosei Co., a supplier to Toyota Motor Corp., plans to increase capital spending next fiscal year as carmakers roll out new models. The company expects capital spending to grow 12 percent to $418 million in the 12 months ending March 2014.
HOLLAND, MI—LG Chem Michigan shipped out the first set of electric vehicle batteries from its assembly plant here. The batteries will be installed in Chevy Volts.
NEW BOSTON, MI—Inergy Automotive Systems has opened a new $110 million assembly plant here to make plastic fuel tanks. It is expected to create 400 new jobs.
