HAMMOND, IN—Auto parts supplier Lear Corp. is looking to fill 200 openings at a job fair here Thursday. The company is looking to fill multiple positions at its seat factories in Hammond and Portage, IN.
DETROIT—Military and commercial vehicle maker AM General LLC will start making Mercedes-Benz SUVs this summer under a new, multiyear contract with the German automaker. AM General will make the R-Class SUV at its commercial vehicle plant in Mishawaka, IN, for export to China.
LAFAYETTE, IN—GE Aviation has started the initial hiring of employees for the $100 million jet engine assembly plant under construction here. The factory will employ more than 200 workers within five years.

MIDDLEBURY, IN—Recreational vehicle manufacturer Jayco Corp. is planning to add 206,000 square feet to its assembly plant here and add up to 50 jobs by the end of next year.
