COLUMBUS, IN—Daiei Inc., a Japan-based manufacturer of industrial machinery components, plans to invest $3.35 million to lease, renovate and equip its first North American manufacturing operation here. Daiei will produce forklift pillars and other components for Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, which is also based in Columbus.
INDIANAPOLIS—Manufacturing employment increased in Indiana for a fourth straight year, according to data compiled by Manufacturers’ News Inc. Indiana manufacturers added 7,447 jobs from April 2014 to April 2015.

GREENSBURG, IN—A labor dispute involving dockworkers that has crippled international trade through the West Coast’s seaports has prompted Honda to temporarily cut production at its southeastern Indiana plant because of a parts shortage.
