OPELIKA, AL—Baxter International Inc. will invest nearly $300 million to expand its dialyzer assembly plant here. The company plans to add 200 jobs at the plant by 2016.

SALT LAKE CITY—Varian Medical Systems, a manufacturer of X-ray equipment, broke ground Wednesday on a new expansion project at its assembly plant here and create 1,000 new full-time jobs in the state over the next 20 years.

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, MI—Medbio Inc. will invest $3.39 million to expand its assembly plant here by a third and create 45 new jobs.
