MASON, OH—Electronics assembler EPIC Technologies has relocated its operations from a 56,000-square-foot facility in Lebanon, OH, to a 74,000-square-foot assembly plant here. The company is also celebrating its 25th anniversary.
SPARTANBURG, SC—A.L. Solutions Inc., a manufacturer of automotive filters, will invest $3.6 million to locate a new assembly plant here. The facility is expected to create 80 new jobs.
NEW HAMPTON, IA—Two northern Iowa women were fired from their jobs at an automotive supplier’s assembly plant here for allegedly joking about “burning the Jews” inside a toy oven they were carrying.
MONTGOMERY, AL—Hyundai plans to add a third shift at its assembly plant here. Hyundai will add 877 positions, bringing the total number of jobs at the plant to more than 3,000.
AUBURN, AL—GE Aviation has opened a $75 million assembly plant here. The 300,000-square-foot factory will produce parts for commercial and military jet engines. It will employ 50 initially and up to 400 workers by the end of the decade.
KANSAS CITY, MO—Ford will add more than 2,000 jobs at its assembly plant here to meet surging demand for the Ford F-150 and planned production of the new Ford Transit van.
BUFFALO, NY—The Western New York Economic Development Council has endorsed a plan to create a workforce training center here that will help teach local workers the skills needed in today’s more-advanced factory work.
