NEW YORK-Microscopic robots made from DNA molecules can walk, follow instructions and work together to assemble simple products on an atomic-scale assembly line. Researchers at Columbia University and New York University created the tiny robots, which are 100,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. Using DNA components, the engineers have emulated a traditional assembly line. MORE
ILION, NY-Remington Arms Co. plans to invest $5.9 million over the next two years in its 194-year-old firearms plant. The money will be earmarked for building improvements, in addition to new equipment and machinery. Remington will also add 100 jobs at the facility, as it relocates some production from North Haven, CT, to upstate New York. The company has been making shotguns and rifles in Ilion since 1816. MORE
JEFFERSON CITY, MO-Gov. Jay Nixon and Missouri House leaders
are making a final push for incentives they say are important to keeping a Ford
assembly plant in the Kansas City area. The legislation would let manufacturers
keep half of the withholding taxes they normally would pay the state if they
