DEARBORN, MI—The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) is sponsoring the Micro Manufacturing Conference and Exposition, which will be held June 10 to 12, 2003, at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis. It will be co-located with the Twin Cities APEX.

The expo is geared toward upper Midwest manufacturers of medical devices, electronics, computers and other industries. The event will showcase processes and equipment for precision micro machining of small parts and micro features on larger parts. The exposition will feature the latest machinery and equipment for micro manufacturing operations. Technologies on display will include micro laser machines, micro electrical discharge machining, micro labeling and marking, micro drilling, diamond machining, micro milling, electron-beam welding, electron-beam lithography, sputtering machines, and equipment for deposition, pattern transfer, thermal processing, assembly and metrology.

The concurrent conference on June 11 to 12 will address such topics as accuracy, tooling, inspection, metrology, finishing, machinery and materials.
