NEW YORK—Fifty-seven percent of manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and government buyers say they are increasing just-in-time buying this year.

An online poll conducted by Thomas Register asked purchasers about their just-in-time buying compared to forecast buying this year vs. last year.

"While forecast buying eliminates concerns about business interruption, particularly important in Arial of economic uncertainty, just-in-time offers an efficient way to control costs and handle the sudden shifts in demand," says Ruth Hurd, publisher of Thomas Register.
