CARSON, CA-EPSON Robots has introduced its new six-axis robot, and it needs a name. So the company is asking the marketplace for suggestions. "We're introducing this new robot because many end-users and integrators told us they wanted to use our software and controller on their six-axis robot applications. Now that the product is on the launch pad, the next step is to christen it with a name. We've generated some suggested names internally, but decided that we should open it up to the marketplace and get more suggestions. After all, the robot has its origins in requests from the market," says John Clark, national sales manager of EPSON.

The contest started Oct. 20 and end on Nov. 30. The selected name will be announced in Jan. 2004. All entries should be sent to epson-6axisrobot@robots.epson.com. The winner will be awarded an EPSON Stylus combination color printer-scanner-copier.
