NATICK, MA--Cognex Corp. is donating up to $200,000 in machine vision equipment annually to colleges and universities around the world.

The Cognex on Campus grant program is providing engineering students with the opportunity to learn about machine vision technology. Each grant consists of a Cognex In-Sight vision sensor and related accessories. "After these students graduate college, they're going to be asked to solve real-world problems in the automation industry," says David Schatz, vice president of corporate development at Cognex. "Working with In-Sight provides them with the hands-on experience they'll need."

Any engineering school that teaches factory automation can apply for the grant. To date, 10 U.S. schools have received grants.
