Police Foil Vehicle Theft at Chrysler Assembly Plant

DETROIT—Police are investigating an attempted theft of new vehicles Oct. 5 from a lot near Fiat Chrysler’s Jefferson North Assembly Plant here. The news comes four days after thieves were able to steal four new vehicles from the same lot.
According to a report in the Detroit News, police were dispatched to the lot at about 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. Officers recovered a total of eight vehicles and detained two suspects, both juveniles, at the scene. Earlier this week, police said an unknown number of suspects entered the lot after 6 a.m. and stole a Jeep Cherokee and three Dodge Hellcats.
The thefts are not the first time vehicles have been stolen from a lot near a FCA manufacturing plant this year. In May, nine Ram pickup trucks were stolen from a shipping yard lot by FCA’s Warren Truck Assembly plant.
