Ohio Lands 300 New Jobs for Auto Parts Assembly Plant

KETTERING, OH—Tenneco will nearly double the workforce at its assembly plant here, adding 300 jobs as part of a $61.5 million expansion project.
The investment is part of an initiative to realign its manufacturing footprint “to enhance operational efficiency and respond to changing market conditions and capacity requirements.”
Tenneco has already added structure to support overhead cranes and other equipment. The more than $20 million investment yet to come includes buying new equipment and modernizing the plant.
The 300 new jobs will include line workers, engineers and back office staff. The Tenneco expansion is the latest in a series of good news in manufacturing for Ohio. More manufacturing jobs have been added in the last month in Ohio than any other, pushing the state to record employment.
