JACKSONVILLE, FL—Only four months after JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd. opened its solar photovoltaic manufacturing facility here, the company has received the Intersolar Award 2019 in the photovoltaics category. JinkoSolar won the award for its Swan bifacial module with transparent backsheet from DuPont.
The company's $50 million plant has been fully operational since March 2019. It employs 200 workers and manufactures 400 megawatts of high-powered 60-cell and 72-cell monocrystalline PERC modules annually. Some energy output is used to serve Jinko’s 2.75-gigawatt supply agreement with NextEra, as well as for many other utility and residential customers.
Pilot production at the facility began in November 2018. JinkoSolar has 40 gigawatts of solar modules deployed globally and 6 gigawatts deployed in the United States.
