Toyota Supplier to Bring 900 Jobs to South Texas

CIBOLO, TX—A supplier for Toyota and other automakers is expected to break ground in September on a new assembly plant here that will provide 900 full-time jobs.
On July 23, the Cibolo City Council and Guadalupe County Commissioners Court approved tax abatements and an economic incentive for AW Texas, a division of Japanese manufacturer Aisin AW Co. Ltd., which makes transmissions for Toyota and other automakers.
The company will invest $400 million in the assembly plant, which is expected to employ 900 people.
