ROUND ROCK, TX — Special Products & Mfg. Inc. (SPM), a contract manufacturing company providing medium and large OEMs with manufacturing services, will open a second location in Texas.

SPM, headquartered in Rockwall, Texas, will expand its manufacturing capabilities in Round Rock, Texas, through the lease of 28,000 square feet at Settler’s Crossing Phase 2, Building 3. The planned opening date is August 2020. SPM expects to add up to thirty employees over the next couple of years with various manufacturing talent to include engineers, operators, assemblers, and machinists at the new location.

“The Austin/Round Rock area makes sense strategically,” says Ed Grand-Lienard, SPM’s president. “It allows us to provide opportunities for our customers in that region, it opens up capacity and room for growth in our Rockwall Headquarters location and will allow the SPM team members great growth potential.”

SPM specializes in electro-mechanical assembly, precision metal fabrication, machining, welding, and powder coating. They provide customers in various industries with a variety of products. SPM currently operates in a state-of-the-art 140,000 square foot facility in the prominent Rockwall Technology Park.

“Strategically, we desire to be the ‘supplier partner of choice’ to our customers. One of the ways we can accomplish that is providing a local solution to our Austin-based customers,” states Rob Grand-Lienard, SPM’s CEO. “The expansion gives us the opportunity to serve a new community, in Round Rock, Texas in the same ways we serve the community of Rockwall and the surrounding areas.”
