Medical Device Manufacturer Plans $88 Million Expansion in Atlanta

PEACHTREE CITY, GA—A German drug packaging and medical device manufacturer is investing $88 million to build a new assembly plant here and hire more than 200 new employees.
Gerresheimer AG, based in Dusseldorf, already operates a factory in Peachtree City, south of Atlanta. That factory, which has been running for more than 30 years, currently employs more than 260 people.
Scheduled to open in fall 2024, the new 160,000-square-foot factory will focus on making autoinjectors, spring-loaded syringes that are used to inject drugs.
