Able Medical Devices Announces New Manufacturing Plant in Michigan

LANSING, MI—Able Medical Devices, a Marquette-based medical device manufacturer, is expanding its operations in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The project, supported by the Michigan Strategic Fund, is expected to create 40 new jobs and generate nearly $13 million in capital investment.
Founded in 2018, Able Medical Devices specializes in manufacturing medical device implants and instruments. With its current facility in Gwinn at KI Sawyer reaching full capacity, the company is set to construct a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to accommodate its continued growth in the industry.
The expansion will bring 40 new jobs to the region, with an average wage of over $36 per hour plus benefits—75% higher than the regional median wage of $20.88. The project is supported by a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program grant, further advancing Michigan’s growing life sciences and medical devices sector.
