LG to Build Warehouse, Add Assembly Line to US Factory
Project will double the company's footprint in Tennessee.

CLARKSVILLE, TN—LG Electronics is investing $100 million to build a warehouse and add a refrigerator assembly line at its factory here. The project is aimed at increasing U.S. production of home appliances in response to tariffs imposed on imports.
In 2017, LG Electronics invested $360 million to build the Clarksville factory, which produces washing machines and dryers. The factory uses hundreds of robots for material handling and assembly. Employing some 740 people, the plant assembles 6,000 washing machines per day and 1,000 dryers per day.
The expansion project involves constructing a new 560,000-square-foot warehouse adjacent to the factory, which will roughly double the company’s footprint in Clarksville. Construction is expected to begin in June, with completion in the third quarter of 2026.
The project will also provide space for a refrigerator assembly line. Currently, LG Electronics imports refrigerators assembled in Mexico and Korea to sell in the U.S.
Collectively, the LG Group plans to invest more than $20 billion in the U.S. over the next four years, including the new line in Clarksville.
In 2023, the Clarksville plant was named as a world-leading “Lighthouse Factory” by the World Economic Forum.Looking for quick answers on assembly and manufacturing topics? Try Ask ASM, our new smart AI search tool. Ask ASM
