KANSAS CITY, MO— Zachariah A. Peterson, 21, of Independence, Missouri, pleaded guilty to making a false threat that shut down the Ford Assembly Plant in Claycomo in July 2023. Court documents reveal Peterson called in a report claiming someone inside the plant had firearms and explosives. The hoax, intended to help an acquaintance get the night off work, led to a full plant shutdown. Prosecutors are recommending a four-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal. Sentencing is scheduled for September 3 in Clay County Circuit Court.
