ABU DHABI—Archer Aviation completed the first test flight of its Midnight electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft today at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi. The flight tested the aircraft’s performance under UAE-specific conditions—such as high heat, humidity, and dust—as part of Archer’s preparation for commercial deployment in the region.
Supported by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council, the test marks a major milestone for Archer’s Launch Edition program with Abu Dhabi Aviation, which aims to establish air taxi services in the emirate.
Archer will continue testing in the UAE to support certification and commercialization efforts, with Abu Dhabi serving as its first Launch Edition market and a launchpad for broader urban air mobility adoption in the Middle East.
