Apple Manufacturing Academy to Provide Free Training for Manufacturers

The Apple Manufacturing Academy will provide free training and consulting for small- and medium-sized manufacturers nationwide.
DETROIT—Michigan State University (MSU) today announced the opening of the Apple Manufacturing Academy, a first-of-its-kind program in the United States developed in partnership with Apple. Located in Detroit’s historic First National Building, the academy officially opens its doors on August 19.
The new academy will provide free in-person and online courses, along with consulting services for small- and medium-sized manufacturers across the country. Designed to strengthen American innovation and supply chains, the initiative focuses on training workers in vital skills such as project management, manufacturing process optimization, and workforce leadership. The skills development curriculum aims to help businesses drive greater productivity, efficiency, and quality in their operations.
In addition to coursework, the Apple Manufacturing Academy offers one-on-one consultations with Apple engineers and Michigan State University experts. These consultations give businesses the opportunity to deep dive into their most pressing challenges and explore ways to implement artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing techniques within their operations.
“Michigan State University’s continued partnership with Apple brings about this next opportunity to help solve the world’s problems through innovative solutions and community outreach,” said MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D. “MSU’s expertise in supply chain, logistics, engineering and packaging, coupled with our leadership in artificial intelligence, will bring much-needed support and skill development to this essential industry in the birthplace of American manufacturing.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome companies from across the country to the Apple Manufacturing Academy,” said Sabih Khan, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer. “Apple works with suppliers in all 50 states because we know advanced manufacturing is vital to American innovation and leadership. With this new programming, we’re excited to help even more businesses implement smart manufacturing to unlock new opportunities for their companies and our country.”
The Apple Manufacturing Academy builds on Apple’s long-standing commitment to American manufacturing and its ongoing partnership with MSU, which also includes the Apple Developer Academy in Detroit.
